On 22nd April 2026, students of Classes 8C and 9C visited the Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park for an educational excursion centred on the theme “Nature’s Pharmacy.” The visit aimed to provide students with hands-on learning through an ethnobotanical survey of indigenous medicinal plants.
During the excursion, students explored the park’s rich biodiversity and engaged in practical identification of plants by observing their morphological features such as leaf shape, bark, and aroma. They studied well-known medicinal plants like Arjun, Neem, and Tulsi, gaining insights into their traditional uses in local culture.
The activity followed an experiential “learning by doing” approach, with students documenting their observations directly in a natural setting. The excursion proved to be highly enriching, enhancing students’ understanding of biodiversity and the importance of preserving indigenous medicinal knowledge.
